Who is behind Blackink?
Blackink is led by Riad Mouawad: a certified brand strategist and identity designer with 25 years of experience building brands across the Middle East, Africa, Europe, and North America.
Riad is a Level C certified brand strategists trained and certified personally by world-renowned branding expert Marty Neumeier, and a graduate of The Futur's Business Bootcamp led by Chris Do.
His strength lies in going deeper than most agencies will, surfacing the insights, tensions, and truths that define what a brand genuinely stands for, then translating that into identities that are distinctive, credible, and built to last.
What languages do you work in?
We work natively in English, French, and Arabic, but language is only part of it.
Having built brands across Western, Middle Eastern, and multicultural markets, we bring cultural depth that goes beyond translation. We understand the nuances, tensions, and expectations that shape how a brand lands in different contexts, which means we build identities that feel authentic everywhere they show up, not just well-designed.
Are you a marketing agency?
No — and that distinction matters.

Both — though the work looks different.

We work through four stages — each one built on the last.

Signals — We translate the strategy into a coherent identity: naming, messaging, tone of voice, visual language, and guidelines that all reinforce the same perception.

Do you offer just logo design or naming?
No — and here's why that matters.
A logo without positioning is decoration. A name without strategy is noise. Isolated outputs might look good in isolation but they don't build brands, they build inconsistency. Every element we create is in service of the full brand story and structure. That's what makes it coherent, defensible, and worth the investment.
Do you offer website design or marketing campaigns?
No, but we often guide and support them.
We’re not a marketing or ad agency. However, our brand strategies and assets are built to guide and support your marketing, digital, and growth efforts. If needed, we can recommend trusted collaborators, or work alongside your existing team to ensure alignment.
How much does a branding project cost?
Our engagements typically start at $8,000 and scale based on scope, complexity, and ambition. Most full brand strategy and identity projects fall between $10,000 and $20,000.
