Branding for Independent Experts
Strategic positioning and identity for consultants, advisors, executives, and professionals building businesses around their expertise.
A New Chapter Needs More Than a Good Reputation.
You have spent years building expertise, credibility, and a reputation that opened doors. Now you're building something of your own. Whether you're launching a consultancy, opening a boutique practice, or stepping into a more independent chapter, the rules have changed.
The people who hired you before already knew what you could do. The market you're entering does not. That is a different game, and expertise alone does not win it.
We help you identify what you should be known for, shape it into a position the market understands, and build the verbal and visual identity that brings it to life.
Who This Is For
If you're an experienced professional who is:
Leaving a senior leadership role to build your own business.
Launching an independent consultancy or advisory practice.
Repositioning an established professional services firm.
Running a practice that has outgrown the brand it started with.
Ready to grow beyond referrals and word of mouth.
…you're in the right place.
What’s Keeping You Up at Night?
-
We turn a long, varied career into one position the market can grasp quickly. What you do, who it's for, and why someone should choose you over the alternatives.
-
We build the positioning and identity that let people who have never met you understand what you offer and take you seriously.
-
We define the position, the audience, and the offer before anything gets designed. So you launch with a foundation instead of a logo and a guess.
-
We find what is genuinely different about your experience and build the brand on it. Not a louder version of your category. A clearer one.
-
When nothing meaningful sets you apart, price becomes the argument. We build the position that lets you compete on the value only you bring, so your fees can reflect it.
Make your expertise easier to understand, trust and choose.
Your reputation may be strong among people who already know you. Outside that network, prospects still need to understand what you should be known for, why your perspective matters and why you are the stronger fit.
Branding turns expertise into a position people can recognise.

Hala Achkar Slaiby - People & Co (Lebanon, serving the GCC)
Hala spent twenty years with the world's leading consulting firms before leaving to build her own advisory practice. The expertise was never the question. The advisory market is crowded, and being broadly capable rarely gives clients a reason to choose you.
Instead of positioning her as another HR consultant, we identified the opportunity to own a much narrower and more valuable space: helping organizations build the structures that protect long-term performance. From there, we built both her personal authority and the firm's identity so the two reinforced one another.
Entrepreneur Middle East featured her shortly after launch, and today the market describes her position back in her own words.

Pierre Boueri - Patrimonia (GCC)
Pierre spent decades in his family's business, eventually becoming CEO while earning a DBA, an HEC MBA, and governance training at INSEAD. When it came time to build his advisory practice, the credentials that established his credibility still didn't explain what made him different from every other advisor.
It became clear that his advantage wasn't what he had studied, but what he had lived: the complexities of ownership, control, and succession from the inside. We built the position around that experience, then the identity to carry it.
Today, he advises entrepreneurial families on the structures that keep ownership, governance, and relationships intact.

Daria Galina - Inkwaves (Canada)
Daria came to tattooing from an unconventional path, with a master's in economics behind her. Like many artists starting out, the obvious route was to offer everything and compete on versatility.
Her conviction led her to make the harder choice, and we built on that decision. Fine-line botanical work became the position, shaping the craft, the studio, and every client experience. Inkwaves Studio gave all of it a home.
Today, people travel from other countries specifically to be tattooed by her.

Vicken Patanian - Patanian Law Firm (Lebanon & Canada)
Vicken had built a respected legal practice in Beirut before deciding to expand to Montreal. The expertise made the move, but a reputation earned in one market doesn't automatically carry into another.
Rather than introducing the same practice to a new market, we identified what truly differentiated his approach and rebuilt the brand around it. The result was a positioning that felt equally credible in both Beirut and Montreal without losing the firm's roots.
Today, he leads one practice across two markets under a coherent brand architecture.
“Blackink doesn't feel like a vendor. Riad is genuinely in it with you. What I got wasn't just a brand. It was clarity, perspective, and the confidence to move forward.”
— Hala Achkar Slaiby“Straightforward & no nonsense. They are not afraid to disagree with you and tell you what works better, and why.”
— Georges Vicken Patanian“I strongly believe Riad is one of the few experts in Branding in our region. He adopts the project as if it was his own with a personal approach and works with passion to deliver added value to the customer.”

FAQ
-
Personal branding often focuses on the visibility and reputation of the individual.
Positioning an advisory practice goes further. It defines what you should be known for, who your expertise is most relevant to and why someone should choose your perspective over the alternatives.
We resolve that strategic position first. Visibility becomes much more useful once the market knows what to associate you with.
-
We do not try to communicate everything you are capable of.
We look for the strongest through-line across your experience: the problem you are best equipped to solve, the perspective you can credibly own and the audience for whom that expertise is most valuable.
Your experience remains as proof. The position gives it focus.
-
For some practices, the individual should remain the primary source of authority. For others, the firm needs to develop equity that can eventually stand beyond the founder.
We resolve that relationship early and build the brand architecture accordingl
-
Referrals prove that people who know your work trust you.
The challenge is what happens outside that network.
A clear brand and position help someone who has never worked with you quickly understand what you do, why your expertise matters and whether you are relevant to their situation.
That becomes increasingly important when growth can no longer depend entirely on personal introductions.
-
A focused strategy and identity engagement typically takes 6 to 12 weeks.
The timeline depends on whether the work involves the individual, the firm, naming, messaging or a broader brand architecture.
Every New Chapter Starts with a Conversation.
Whether you're going independent, launching a practice, or repositioning an established one, we'll help you define the position, build the brand, and move forward with confidence.
